Celebration

Rainbow Dots is finished.  This isn't the best photograph of it; far from it.  I think if you click on it you can see the quilting.  I thoroughly enjoyed hand-quilting this baby quilt.  The backing is the same yellow as the binding.

This is my fifth finish for this year.  It's not a UFO, but rather a quilt that a certain mom is going to need early this summer.

Yesterday I picked up Cinnamon Latte and Second Hand Clothes from the machine quilter and managed to get the bindings machined on both of them (not  my favorite part of making a quilt).  So now I'm ready for the hand-stitching of the binding, a task I enjoy.  The quilting on Cinnamon Latte is amazing -- kind of an Aztec sort of motif that is just perfect, I think, with the fabrics.  I'll try to get a close-up when it is finished.

Yesterday I retired my favorite blue jeans.  They had become too large!  Today I'm wearing a pair that looks just like them, but are a size smaller and have been hanging in the spare closet for many years.

And yesterday's post was number 1200.

Many things to celebrate!  A give-away seems to be in order.  How about a charm pack of French General La Petite Ecole?  Leave a comment telling me something that you are celebrating.  I'll draw a random winner on Thursday.

Celebrate is my word for the month!! My daughter, who, by the way, lives "near Philadelphia", had major surgery 5 weeks ago and continues to recover at home. While I was there with her, I was able to take a day trip to Lancaster and my favorite stop, Sauders. Thanks for the chance to win and Congrats on # 1200 and #5!!

Can't wait to see pics of the fully finished quilts! I'm itching to do a baby quilt for a friend who is the wife of a colleague. They've got a cute theme going in the nursery, and there is fabric that goes perfectly, if I can still get my hands on it. Your rainbow dots inspires me!

I'm celebrating day three of Dr. Oz's diet, which I am finding easy, and even enjoyable. My goal is one size smaller by Easter. Crossing fingers and eating better toward that end!

Congrats to Brenda!

Congratulations on all those celebrations- finished quilts and smaller jeans are always things to feel good about..
Today I think I have a different idea of how to put my father's quilt together. I am going to press the seams around the blocks a quarter inch back and machine applique them on- If I start cutting the base apart I am going to have problems I think. I am celebrating a solution to my father's quilt and that I am finally making progress on it.
It is also spring break and I have had my teeth cleaned and am off to get a haircut... Yes...
Have a terrific day. Regards,
Anna

Huge congratulations on your latest (and very cute) completed quilt AND the size smaller jeans which totally puts me to shame!

And a very sincere "thank you" for taking the time and trouble to entertain us all with your blog posts. I so enjoy seeing your grandchildren grow through your pictures and your quilts growing, too!

What am I celebrating? Well, after several months of working 12-16 hour days, 7 days a week to get a new business off the ground, I took last weekend off and SEWED something!

I'm so excited to be sewing again - I have missed it terribly.

I'm celebrating, but I may have done a bad thing. I loved your Argyle quilt, so I got out my rulers and figured out the pattern. I decided to do in white/black/red. I hope I'm not breaking any copyright laws. Thanks so much for the inspiration.

Don't feel much like celebrating much at the mo Nancy - my dear friend Sue who's been fighting breast cancer for two years found out yesterday that it has spread to secondaries in her liver and possibly elsewhere, prognosis not good - however now you come to mention it actually I have much to celebrate - my own health and that of my family plus the fact that I am in a position to help her as best I can for as long as she has left

Congratulations on retiring your favorite jeans!!! Yahoo! Love when a small size fits again. I am in my first year of retirement. Celebration! I was able to schedule two days of sewing this week. I showered and dressed then spent the rest of the day working on a new project. Love French General fabrics!

Congratulations on all of your quilts and especially on retiring your jeans! There hasn't been much to celebrate here the past week or so since I've been sick, my son had computer problems and I had an particularly bad day at work today. But I came home to a package from the Fat Quarter shop with some lovely red, white and blue prints that I bought "just because" and a couple of new patterns. And on Friday, we're headed to DC to hear my daughter perform in her college's jazz band. Things are looking up indeed

Way to go on all of your accomplishments! As for me, I am celebrating the fact that I am 5 weeks into training to run a 5K and just ran for 10 full minutes without stopping!! I never thought I would be a runner, but I am getting there! Now if there were only another 60 minutes in the day to get some sewing accomplishments in there too! :)
