The Quilts of Christmas 2012: One

Back in the spring, when I finished Pictures at an Exhibition, I showed it to my daughter and she loved it. This was unusual; Sherry generally appreciates the workmanship that goes into my quilts, but the Civil War fabrics just aren't to her taste. Her enthusiasm for Pictures made me think that a queen quilt in similar style would make a good Christmas gift for Sherry and Chris.

So I started hunting for fabrics with people and characters on them. My friends were helpful, donating bits and pieces here and there; the fabric shop was helpful as well. I needed thirty-six blocks, and I wanted the featured individual to be different in each block.

The bedroom has white furniture and peach walls there there are blue accents here and there. I had a wonderful time making this quilt, which I gave to my daughter and her husband along with a set of white flannel sheets.

Wow! What a great modern quilt with perfect colors and a delicious variety of fabrics! Well done!!

Isn't it just the best when you have a good idea for a special quilt and it turns out just as just as wonderful as can be and perfectly suited to its new owner?

Hugs!
