DNC 2016

This is what I did during the week of the convention. I had the donkeys from the swap, I had the piece that Tricia machine embroidered, I had the Spoonflower Hillary fabric for the 2016 and, of course, the paper-pieced logo. Liz made the block with the Liberty Bell in the background; she had traced the design with permanent pen. Because Philadelphia was important to me in this historic event, I spent one convention night hand embroidering over Liz's design. Another evening was devoted to hand-buttonholing the 2016. Today, despite an annoying back spasm, I was able to get it all together. I'm hoping that over the weekend I can sandwich and machine quilt; I'd love to be binding this on Tuesday night when our hand-quilting group meets.

Nancy!
How did you make the Hillary logo block? I've been trying to figure out how to piece it. Did you to the point of the arrow in two pieces?
I love the photograph in the link below and the various colors--very quilt like.
I am considering making pin cushions for friends--who will see the utility and not mistake it in a negative way in putting pins into the logo!

LOVE this quilt and suggest your label shows a broken glass ceiling somehow. I am over the moon that after yesterday, it's true that all boys and girls understand that EVERY ONE could grow up to be the President.

Wishing you well as you aim to be ready to hand stitch binding by Monday night bedtime.

Hugs!
What a fabulous quilt to mark this momentous occasion, especially since the blocks are part of a swap!! I love Barbara's suggestion about incorporating a broken glass ceiling in your label. Awesome job:)

Love it! Got to get my blocks together. I plan on using your Hillary logo block idea and I already had a 2016 block (or border) idea. Also will embroider over the bell. IT was a fun swap!

I have got to make this quilt!! I LOVE IT!!

Love! the way this came out. Great job and thank you for the opportunity to contribute. I wish I had been able to embroider all my blocks instead of just trace the bell -- darn carpal tunnel.
