Pick A Petal Progress (1)

Month Two of the Pick A Petal Project brought templates and fabrics to make twenty Improved Nine Patch blocks. I believe that next month will bring a different block that will alternate with the I9Ps to surround the medallion center.

My provider included some gorgeous Liberty cuts to mix in with the Kingwell Lollies, but I didn't think that they looked right together, so I used just the Lollies for my blocks (which are more than half done at this point). If at some point it turns out that I'm short on fabric because of omitting the Liberties, I'll fill in with solids picked from the Kingwells.

I'm piecing these blocks by hand.

I will enjoy watching this interesting hand-piecing project grow as you get further clues about block patterns. I also applaud your idea to use the fabrics as you choose and not be a slave to the instructions!

Hugs!

These are perfectly lovely; each and every one! I do love handwork but haven't hand-pieced in eons. My evenings seem to be consumed with cross stitch these days, my stack of bound quilts ready for hand-finishing continues to grow, too; it's a shame I only have two hands!

I am so impressed, Nancy! Just always in awe of the quantity and quality of what you turn out with your hand piecing! This is lovely.
