Merricks Nth: Progress?

Merricks is composed of groupings of blocks, separated by strips of purples.

Earlier I wrote of my frustration that in the grouping of circles and small diamonds, my panels didn't come out to be the same length. I came up with an elaborate plan to remake the small diamonds and when I posted about it, two people had better ideas than I did. One suggested paper-picking those damn diamonds and I was just about to do that when one of the wisest people I've never met suggested I keep the too-small panel and add more purple. Which is just what I did. Mainly because I'm currently working on Merricks Lozenge blocks and having yet another dickens of a time.

I've made the decision that I'm not going to worry about sizes. How could more purple not be a good thing?

Today I thought to share with you the groupings that are complete.

The Lozenges are on a Time Out.

There is absolutely no way that more purple could not be a good thing.

More purple is ALWAYS a good plan! And I suspect the variation in sashing will only make your quilt top even more interesting to look at.

I went to Treehouse and looked at the entire quilt. Your extra purple will be just fine and help make the quilt your own.

You are spot on with this approach and my lozenges are also in time out.

More purple and no re-sewing? Absolutely brilliant!! Breathe and happy dance!
I'll have to keep that in mind for future sewing.

Hugs!

More purple is a good choice and I agree with Quiltdivajulie that it will make it more interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Definitely think more purple (or less, if your block happens to ever be too large)will always be the answer! This looks really ambitious to me. Kudos, my friend.
