Testing 1 2 3

Becca recently put out a call for pattern testers and I was chosen from the pool to test Star-Crossed Plaid. The pattern comes in a bazillion sizes. Because I'm almost always in need of another baby quilt, I chose that size.

Becca's pattern is done in violet, emerald, and grays and is beautiful (you'll have to wait until it's published to see).

Last weekend I approached the sale rack at Burkholder's with the pattern's requirements in hand and found this darling little mousie print as well as the solids to match the microscopic bit of green.

This week I tackled the pattern draft. I didn't have any trouble; the directions were clear, the diagrams were even clearer. There were an awful lot of geese involved, but the pattern calls for the no-waste method, and they pretty much hummed along.

Here's the finished flimsy. I'm happy with it.

There's enough of the mousies for the back, and I have the darker green for binding. My generous sister has agreed to machine quilt it for me this week, so it should be finished completely before much longer.

What a delightful quilt and I love the fabric with the wee mice that hollered at you! Your companion fabrics are perfect, too.

It's a rainy day in the Richmond area - at last!

Hugs!

A very eye-catching design--and a cute little mousie fabric. :)

LOVELY - and I didn't know your sister was a machinist. What a pretty baby quilt this will be.
