Merricks Nth, Month One, Post Two

With all that's going on in the realm of tariffs, I'm really glad that I chose to supply my own fabric for Merricks Nth. The project is based in Mornington, Australia, and the Australian postal system has stopped shipping parcels to the USA [temporarily?]. My subscription is for the pattern which comes via email as a monthly pdf.

This morning I got a notice that Month Two will be in my mailbox on September 1. So I worked hard today on completing Month One.

There are three elements to Month one and the first one is finished.

The other two are nearly finished and will be by September 1. I've decided I won't open that incoming pdf unless I'm up to date.

This part is machine pieced. The other two parts are a combination of hand-and-machine pieced.

When I was out shopping the other day, I saw this beautiful fabric and decided I needed a yard or so. It's part of Tim Holtz's latest line, Purple Palette. I suspect it's going to show up in Merricks sooner or later. Prolly sooner.

I contemplated stitching the diamonds on the machine but I am trying to improve my hand stitching skills. I am exciting get month #2 on Monday- my sewing space is very tidy

Love your pieced diamonds and the fabrics you used. Years ago I made two Christmas tree skirts using diamond shaped fabrics. One, made in 1995, is reds, greens, and Christmas prints, the other made in 2015 is two shades of black, one of which has a sheen, made for DS1 and DIL who love black, white, gray, and red.
What a delightful purple print!

Hugs!

The purple bouquets remind me of wallpaper....I look forward to watching your progress. I am related to Merricks by marriage.

I'm loving this and the soft, watercolor-y feel to these colors/fabrics. Well done!
