Recent Finishes

The other day I went over to my machinist's place and picked up four quilts that she'd done for me. 

First up is my William Morris Crossroads quilt. I'm so pleased with how it turned out, despite having about a bazillion seams to press open as I went along.

Most of the fabrics came from a FQ pack of Bills that I'd picked up early in the summer. However, two blocks came from fabric shared by my Canadian friend Kathleen.

Kathleen and I somehow "met" over our mutual obsession fondness for Treehouse Textiles, a shop in Australia where I've been buying patterns and the occasional starter pack during the past couple of years. The two of decided to subscribe to Treehouse's "Merricks Nth" BOM and to provide encouragement during these months. We've talked about starting a Fans of Treehouse group on Facebook, but neither of us has taken any action on that. Yet.

This little baby quilt is paper pieced from scraps left over from Boardwalk. What a fine use of left-overs! Enlarging the photo will show the intricacy of the blocks which weren't difficult at all. I foresee more of these in the future. Sherry has claimed this for her friend who expects a little boy before long.

Speaking of expecting, a friend of mine is expecting a granddaughter before the end of the year so of course she needs a quilt. These sheep are also paper-pieced and I'm hoping my friend won't notice the mistake that I made but didn't discover until I hung it up for the photo-op! Baa!
