Venice

Truthfully, I hadn't planned to blog about Venice at all. It is hard to look back on the disappointment that occurred there. And I hardly took any pictures there.

Now with a little bit of distance, there are good memories from Venice:

  • Our hotel, where we'd stayed once before, was still a wonderful place. We had the same room, right off the interior courtyard, with our own private table outside our door. The pool was wonderful. This photo to the left is a chandelier that hangs in the lobby.
  • We had two dinners with our daughter and her family while in Venice.
  • We had a visit from older son and his family at the hotel.
  • We got to see younger son and his family for a short time in Venice.
  • We enjoyed being in "our neighborhood," a comfortable distance from the chaos and brouhaha of St. Mark's area.
  • Our neighborhood included an excellent -- and inexpensive -- gelato stand.
Inside our local church.

Also inside our local church.

Our hotel lobby was filled with beautiful art. I liked this one a lot.

Another favorite from the hotel lobby.

Our local funeral home, sharing plaza space with the excellent pizzeria next-door,
just two doors from the gelato spot.

I'm glad you can now remember the happy times in Venice before the annoyances and worry started. Lovely chandelier, paintings, and a beautiful area you and your sweetie returned to for this trip.
I'd never thought to stay at the same hotel but it's an excellent idea. Will certainly do that should we travel afar again.

Hugs!
