XXIV and XXV At Last!!!

So I switched to Roman numerals for this post. One doesn't see a lot of Roman numerals anymore. I can't count very high in Roman.

But I digress. All of the blocks for Boardwalk are pieced and pressed and shortly these final two will be on the design wall in preparation for final placement.

This guy, XXIV (the Penultimate for those who care about such things), turned out really well. The 30s repro was a whimsical idea and I wasn't at all sure that it was going to go with that whatchamacallit large print. But the Asian penmanship kind of bridges the gap. Or something. Turns out I really, really like this block!

The final block is just a nice, nice block. Not overly dramatic, no contrast or clash worries, none of that. Just a nice, pretty block. Especially if one likes green.

I have enjoyed seeing each and every one of these blocks as you completed them. Now, the final challenge, will they be friends and play nicely for a layout? I think they will.

When I first saw the block, I thought it looked Asian. Then to learn it was of Asian penmanship, made me surprised and happy that I was right. I can't wait to see all the blocks together. Thanks for sharing.
