Well, the Lozenges have been released from time-out, been pressed, and are behaving fairly well in their new liberty (see what I did there). There are plenty more of them, all pressed and sitting at attention. The next step will be to first sew them into horizontal rows, then insert more low-volume squares into those red holes, and finally, to sew the horizontal rows together, incorporating those squares. Sound simple? No, I didn't think so. I do think I can do it, however, and just might begin tonight while we continue watching what may or may not be the newest season of The Diplomat. At this point I need to digress and go on the record to say that that woman's hair annoys the heck out of me.
Pick A Petal is on hold indefinitely. You may remember that the stalled step involves applique and much embroidery on the low volume round, and for that I'm going to need Himself to draw the embroidery designs for me. And while he's recovering remarkably well from the cardiac surgery, right now he's got prolly the worst head-and-chest cold that anyone has ever had and is coughing nearly constantly. The usual remedies don't seem to be effective and I'm about to go get some whiskey to combine with the honey and lemon. I've got a slightly less lethal-sounding version and the Mucinex is doing pretty much for me what it is supposed to be doing.
Enough on the health report. This month's Merricks involves two parts. One is some strange little squares that I've been unable to face yet. The other is the Wiggly Worms which intrigued me. I spent the better part of five laundry loads picking fabrics, tracing the shapes, cutting them out and marking their positions. Last night while Kate was making whoopie with yet another guy on the floor of the embassy's salon ("Wait, where's the condom?") I managed to get two of them together and while they're a bit on the wonky side, I think they'll be fine. The rest are quietly waiting their turns.
