Happy Anniversary, Henrik!

A few weeks ago, we held a surprise party at church. Our pastor has been with us for fifteen years now, and we decided to mark the occasion with a celebration.

The party was a catered brunch in our fellowship hall immediately following the annual congregational meeting.

Cake was served, [brief] speeches were made, laughter ensued, the Bishop appeared. And a gift was given:

A group of the quilters started working months ago. One provided a pattern, we all dug into our stashes for bright batiks, a couple of yards of Kona black was acquired, and the blocks were divided up. One woman provided a refresher course on cat washing paper piecing. Another returned to quilt piecing after several years away.  All went according to plan!

And he was pleased!

Absolutely a bright loving quilt. Can see why he loved it!
And then there's another lovely quilt showing it's self a bit.
You ladies do great work!

That's a beautiful, bright quilt. It looks as if one person choose the fabric and blocks and made the quilt. Your group did a wonderful job. Thanks for sharing.

What a glorious, bright, and happy quilt to celebrate your pastor's 15th anniversary! Applause to the quilt's creators who raided their stashes and braved paper piecing to make this wonderful quilt!

Hugs!
