Nineteen, Twenty: Five To Go!

These two were finished this weekend. Both of them are going to need some starch to help them to lay flat!

One day last week Marsha and I drove out to Burkholder's. There was a 20% off sale and I was in need of a couple of wide backs. I got them.

I also picked out some very quiet pale yellow for Boardwalk's cornerstones. I already have the sashing. My live-in consultant has been looking at the Boardwalk blocks on the design wall and suggested a different arrangement for the sashing and cornerstones and I like his idea immensely. In fact, I'm so eager to try it that part of me wants to not delay until all 25 blocks are done and go ahead and sew a row together now! I'm trying hard to wait because I've already moved blocks around. Kind of like that old game we used to play in grade school . . . .

Will she wait? Will she do it? I guess time will tell. I'm prolly ten days to two weeks from having all of the blocks made.

Huh. I had to look up starching quilt fabric, which had never come to my attention before. Very interesting, although my quilts are pretty simplistic and that might be overkill. Something to think about when I can't sleep.

Two more wonderful blocks with pizazz!!
I look forward to seeing whether you jump to your beloved's new idea for the other quilt or keep you nose to the grindstone (?) and finish the last few hand-pieced blocks. Time will tell!

Hugs!

Since you aren't going to preview the sashing and cornerstones (?), guess I'll have to wait. I love quilts with a lot of colors and patterns. This quilt sure fits that description. Thanks for sharing.

I can't wait to see all the blocks together with your chosen setting--at the suggestion of your live-in consultant. (If I let my hubby know I called him something like that, he'd want a raise based on the job title.)
