Second Course?

I would have thought that one Dresden Plate flimsy would get that out of my system.

Wrong.

Another leader-ender project has demanded "real" status, and I've given in. These are made from Kaffe and Kaffe-ish fabrics and there will be a dozen of them. I have a couple of different ideas of background and center circle possibilities, and will hold the audition soon.

Meanwhile, we will have some family time at the end of the month, and doing the handwork on these will be a good family time project, so I press on (and stitch on, too!).

What a happy lot of fabrics you've used for theses Dresden plates! Seems to me they look quite jazzy on the black background. Have you considered using black?

I've got all the blocks for one Shade Cascade wall hanging sewn to at least one other block and am waiting for the new fabric to arrive. Hope, hope, hope it matches!

DH is sick with what might be the flu and there's nothing more needy that a sick sweetie. Guess what I've been doing for much of the last two days.

Hugs!

Those 'plates' are gorgeous. By all means, sew on!!!!!
Colors are FANtastic! I like a dark background for this one really makes it pop.

I like the plates against that dark background. They sizzle. Thanks for sharing.

I love the richness of color. The black they are resting on really makes them sing.....

Love, love these plates! I have a FQ bundle of Kaffe and you just might have influenced me... and I have a great lime green that might be the background. Thanks!

I think Dresdens are as addictive as chocolate. I have been avoiding doing anymore for over a year now.

These plates are so visually striking, Nancy. I thought they were on black and then realized it is probably your dark design wall. But I think the colors pop on the dark background and look stunning!

Dish it, Sister, dish it!!! I agree that the very dark background makes these pop. If you wanted fun centers, you could always use different circles from his dots collection, even though you have one or two in the fan blades. I know someone who has fat quarters.....

The colors are so pretty in those Dresden plates. And they really look nice on the dark background! I wonder... will you go light or dark on your quilt.
