100 Quilts Project: First Day's Yield

Day One of block-making for 100 Quilts in 100 Days yielded these nine blocks. In some the border matches the 5 spots; in others the 4 spots. I think this makes it more interesting. In one the center doesn't match the frame (except for one square!) but I wanted to use the print fabric. We'll see if it makes the cut.

Fabrics are pulled for prolly six or eight more. Tomorrow, as she says, is another day.

This is a great start. When I first saw the title, I automatically converted it to blocks - 100 blocks project! 100 quilts in 100 days is quite ambitious! Glad you have help! I just started working with a group here and they just delivered 127 quilts for cancer patients. I don't know how long it took them to make that many. They make lap quilts. They have another smaller batch going out next week to another organization.

I like this start -- and I agree it is more interesting to have some blend and others contrast. More to look at as the eye roams across the landscape.

Terrific idea Nancy! There’s a partially completed UFO staring back at me from my design wall where it has spent too long without a destination. I’ll finish it up, get it quilted and off to your brilliant thoughtful LQS. Bet there are other blog readers in similar situations. Anyone want to join in this worthwhile project?

The quilt made from these blocks will have plenty of visual interest. Looking forward to more.
