The Bunny Came

I completely forgot yesterday to write this post.

It has been many years since the Easter Bunny came to this house. Our daughter has been married more than twenty years and our sons more than half that. It's just Himself and me. And Blackberry (who turned TEN) on Friday. So the EB has had many far more worthy recipients to visit.

But he made an early appearance here on Friday.

I've had a large basket outside our front door for a week now. That's where I put the finished masks for contact-free pick-up. I haven't wanted to be paid for these masks. It's not as if I didn't have the fabric already! But some people have been thoughtful and left little somethings in exchange. We've enjoyed some lovely pumpkin bread, and a vase of daffodils graced our counter for a few days. A bar of fragrant special soap, packets of anti-bacterial wash-and-drys, and the most amazing Linzer cookies.

And this dear little basket with a pair of decorated eggs!

Little things always matter. I think we are noticing them even more these days.

I've made a couple masks, some for a friend of a friend who's son is undergoing chemo. She asked if I needed fabric! Surely you jest, I'm have lots, my pleasure. The other day I got an email from the late husband's bestest friends. Did I have some special fabric they liked? Could I make him, who has loads of medical issues, a couple masks from it? Sure again, husband's stash of "I Love this Fabic", produces masks. Can we pay you? No, I'll come visit at the cabin, you can buy me lunch. I really just want to see them! Cold and windy today, going to sew once the masks are mailed. Take care
