Huehuetenango Trails

Shortly before Thanksgiving, I finished my Mocha Trails quilt.  While the quilt is nicely made, it really just does not sing to me.  I think that there is too much of the same color in it; it would have been better to have more contrast in the "X" blocks.

Since the quilt never had a designated recipient, and since a group from church is going to be going on a construction mission trip to Huehuetenango, Guatemala this summer, I've offered the quilt to them to raffle as a fundraiser for the project.

So it should be renamed "Huehuetenango Trails."

(sing along with Roy and Dale): " Happy Huehuetenago Trails to you, until we meet again....".

I think the muted colors are soothing and lovely. I hope it inspires lots of raffling because it is indeed a worthy quilt for a very worthy cause.

WV = norstenz: Viking silliness. "Holy herring, Sven; don't give me any of your norstenz!"
I can't believe this didn't sing to you - it's simply gorgeous! blessings, marlene

I'm sure it will be a popular raffle! Not so much my colors, but it's very pretty.

I think your Mocha Trail is lovely, your workmanship is stunning! I give you credit for finishing a quilt that does not sing to you. I'm feeling the exact same way about my project, I can't even muster up enough enthusiasm to finish mine....I had such high hopes for this pattern....what is it!!
It is a beautiful quilt, and very generous of you to give it away. I hope you enjoy your blog break.

Ooh, but a very interesting quilt with the assymetrical blocks. I like it! Sort of a man's quilt if there is such a thing...It is beautiful.
