Time for a Break

Another blogger I follow faithfully knows what she needs, and it is a break from blogging.  I didn't realize until I read her post that this is what I need right now, too.

There's nothing bad going on, Joe and I are both well (except for my usual lingering cough), and the family is great.

But looking at the lists and at the calendar for the next few weeks, it is obvious that there is way too much on both the lists and the calendar.

I always feel resentful when I look at the calendar and discover that something I'd looked forward to with delight has turned into something else that I have to do.  I surely don't want that to happen with blogging.

So I'm going to take a break for a week.  Or two.  Or three.  We'll see.  I just know that right now I'm on the verge of becoming a member of the Overextenders Society, where membership is by conscription and resignations are not accepted.  I'll return when things settle down.

Meanwhile, Keep Calm.  And Quilt On.

I will look for your return after the holidays. I, too, have lists and more to do than I think will get done - 3 small quilts have been requested that I am going to try to do so I hope to limit my computer time as well. Take care, have a great holiday season with family and talk to you next year. Love, your CA cuz

Me too -- not that I've been very faithful about blogging lately. I will stop feeling guilty about it, however, thanks to your example.

Many blessing, warm hugs and a joyful holiday. Piece out, sistah!

Smart move! If this blog became a "have to do" the enjoyment would be gone. Enjoy your one, two, three or so weeks. If we don't hear from you beforehand, have a wonderful, peaceful Christmas!

Here's a thought: Just say, "NO!" YOu won't die or go crazy, nor will the redipients of same. There're really very few thins that HAVE to be done. ..or at leat, have to be done by you in particular. I learned this quite a few years ago because I know what that feels like when you are overloaded and I don't want to do it anyt more.
So have a good rest and practice saying "no" nicely and you don't owe anyone explanations or justifications. And you won't go to hell.

I think many, many of us are feeling that something has to "give" in this mad-rush known as December. . . and I suspect there will be less posting for many of us over the next few weeks as we make time to enjoy that which is closest to us.

Blessings to you and yours!

you will be sorely missed, Nancy - but what a wonderful example you are to the rest of us who need to practise saying "no" more often.

Enjoy your break, catch up with what you need to, enjoy time with your friends and family - and come back to us soon!

:)

You will be missed, Nancy! Wishing you all the best in this season of Advent.
You have a bad cough? My daughter has had a bad cough for six months and been to 5 specialists. She quit coughing this week! She started taking priloset for (oh shoot! I forgot what they call it)-indigestion, heartburn etc., (it's two words!) which she didn't believe she had...this medicine is the first thing that helped-this might help you,,,,she hadn't slept for weeks....
