Escargot

Long-time followers of this blog may remember that during (a) The Olympics, (b) the quadrennial major party USA political conventions, and (c) serious snowfall, the sewing here Near Philadelphia intensifies. Now we have a fourth category: (d) pandemics.

I picked up two quilts from the machinist before things were totally shut down and yesterday I got the binding on Escargot. I am delighted with the quilting on these snails. This quilt is going to be hard to give away.

I'm continuing to work on Steam Punk blocks by hand and will likely have another post about them before long.

Himself and Blackberry and I are doing fine. But it's early yet. Mighty early.

I have been looking out for your snails. I love the setting and colours. My snail too is done leaving a very messy trail behind for me to sweep up. We have just gone into lockdown As you sy it's early days, Quilting will help but it will be testing. We will go for a walk every day either by the sea or in the woods.

can you (re)post your paper piecing link for the snails? Category D might be a reason to learn to bathe cats and the snails are as good an effort as any.
Here's a link to the pattern. I loved making them!

I hope you keep Escargot and hang it in your sewing area -- it's marvelous. Yes, there is more sewing and quilting happening, and for some more knitting/crocheting/reading/word puzzling etc. Blogging might just have a bump in popularity again as people yearn to share their stories.

Escargot is a delight and the quilting design is just perfect for it! I join those who vote you keep this quilt. Oh, yes!

To all, take care.

Hugs!

I am thrilled to see your rainbow escargot again. A lovely finish. Someone will be very lucky to receive this--if you can part with it.

The quilting is perfect for your escargots. Snailing along in the pandemic seas . . .

P.S. Have you read Sound of a Wild Snail Eating, by Elisabeth Tova Bailey?

Just BEAUTIFUL!! I started my "Quarantine Quilt" yesterday (I am a teacher in PA, so we are definitely not having school until 3/30 at the earliest) - a scrappy postage stamp-type from Scraps, Inc. 2 book. (my IG is @ern.hbshmn if you wish to check it out) My teen daughter asked for a sewing lesson this afternoon and made a little stuffed bird for herself. I cannot wait to see what other creative endeavors are brought for from this turbulent time.
