Tulips and Windmills and on to Paris

Our day at Keukenhof was our last day with Viking's Tulips and Windmills tour. Despite the inconveniences early in the tour, Viking did an outstanding job of making us feel educated, cared about, understood, and well-fed. I would recommend this particular tour without hesitation. We learned and saw so much!

Since we were still in Zandam, Viking took responsibility for getting us to the Central Station in Amsterdam. The first train took us to Brugge where we changed to another train that delivered us to Paris. A cab took us to our hotel, Jardin de Cluny, not far from Notre Dame (more about which later).

The reception area was just lovely and inviting, and there was beautiful wallpaper throughout the hotel. The desk clerks couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. It was an excellent place to stay.

That first night in Paris, we walked down to the Seine and found a nice place to eat French food.

Beef Bourguignon, preceded by pate and followed by creme brûlée. All delicious!

What amazing and wonderful wallpaper and such interesting animals on it! As a side note, we've been watching "Secrets of the Zoo Downunder" about the Toronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia (Disney+ streaming) and have learned of many amazing animals we never knew existed. Did you know that there are many varieties of great apes (no tails) and many kinds of monkeys (with tails)? There are also 27 kinds of wallabies. Who knew?

I'm happy to be in Paris with you two!

Hugs!

This has been a fabulous trip (despite the early issues with Viking).
