Tulips and Windmills: Brugge

While I was gallivanting around Ghent and possibly having my life changed by the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, Joe (and Maggie, as it turns out) and the rest of our tribe went on the trip to Brugge.

He (and they) loved it, and he wanted to share some of his photos. This one is of housing in the village.
Michelangelo's [Other] Pieta. It seems that the same model was used for this as for the [perhaps better-known] Pieta in Rome.

A medieval city with canals. The canals of Belgium and of The Netherlands are, IMNSHO, more beautiful than those of Venice.

The town square.

Lovely! This, of course, means another trip to The Netherlands will be necessary so you can see Btugge for yourself.

I saw The Pieta from Rome at the New York's World's Fair in 1964 when I was 12. It was so incredible and beautiful.

Hugs!
