What's a Gal to Do?

I've been smitten with this line of fabrics ever since I saw the previews of them months ago. I just think they are gorgeous. Unusual and gorgeous. French General. Great colors. Greater designs.

I'm not the only one. I've seen other quilting bloggers drooling over them here and there. And a couple of people have somehow managed to get advance packets and are actually sewing with them.

They'll be available at Hancocks of Paducah next week. And I'm just dying to get them. But I've no idea what to make from them. I've already got a stack of Morris Garden FQs sitting on the cutting table. They get fondled regularly, but I haven't got a clue for them either.

I keep thinking that I should come up with a plan for Rouenneries and then order yardage and forego the FQ bundle. But no plan is coming to mind. And if I wait too long, I'm afraid they will be gone. And I think of Bill sitting there with no plan, and think I should order some yardage to accompany him before it is all gone.

Such are the sighs of the everyday quilter.

I feel your pain! Sometimes just looking and petting is all you can do. There were times when I just wanted to roll myself up in Vienna Nights and never cut anything. Thankfully, I got over that! Good luck coming up with a pattern to use that makes the best use of the fabric. It surely is gorgeous stuff.

Just so you know, with this line, you're not alone. I was thinking of gathering up some of the red yardage because a girl can never have enough red - right?

I am sucker for traditional reds. This line is so beautiful, I can see why you are smitten. I hate that Hancocks web site -- it borders on fabric porn.

I wonder if it might be worth your while to stop at Burkholder's on the way to your retreat?

I have been lusting over these fabrics too!! I have always made it my rule that if I buy a FQ packet, I must buy some yardage to make the borders, even though I don't know what the FQs are going to turn into. Just a thought.

You are right about not being the only one, I am about to order some of that fabric. Had my eye on it for awhile. Looking forward to seeing just what you do with it.

Hahaha fabric porn!

I'm SO crazy over this line too and I'm NOT happy at you for dangling it in front of me! *g* I need me somma that, I tell ya!

Ahhh reds and (almost)whites! I have some experience with those colours *lol*
No kidding: they're really worth drooling about!

I just tortured myself and took a look at this collection on the Fat Quarter Shop web site. It doesn't look like the reds are true reds -- they look like they scootch towards a dusty rose red. The grays and the creams are lovely. All in all it's a very classy look.

I love this fabric line so much; I just want to wrap my house in it. Not wanting to do the math to figure out yardage, I bought the FQ bundle too. I am on a quest to find the perfect pattern too.

When you figure out what to do with Morris Workshop, will you please let me know???
So I have to come up with $100 next week to get my bundle of Rouenneries? Oh my.

hahaha! I can't think of anything to do with them either and by the time I do they will be sold out so I am buying the FQ bundle. Yardage is always easier to find than bundles.
