1500
1500 posts. My, oh my. When I started this little blog back in the spring of 2006, I was doing it as a kind of journal for myself, and perhaps for my family. Which it still is. But it has become much more than I ever would have imagined. I've "met" the nicest, funniest, kindest, most generous people through the magic of internet blogging. And so I truly celebrate this 1500th post.I'm SO enjoying my shorter summer work hours, which come to an end next week. Last evening I worked on three totally different projects. First I cut and attached the borders to my dresden plates quilt. So it is now officially a flimsy and will go on the pile of quilts to be quilted someday. I'm thinking that this one is asking for me to hand quilt.
After dinner I worked on my little people blocks -- Several months ago Lynn posted a photo of a most magnificent quilt called An Extravagant Welcome that inspired some of us to start up a swap of little people so we could make similar quilts. Uncharacteristically, I delayed making my blocks and had been worried about having enough time to get them finished. I need a total of 70 blocks: Seven each of ten different people. I was relieved to find that they go more quickly than I'd anticipated, and as of now seven little girls in pink dresses are waiting for friends. I imagine photos will be posted within days. Lynn so generously provided very detailed instructions on how to make the blocks; I didn't have a bit of trouble with this first set.
Finally, while I caught up with an hour or so of Olympic track and field, I hand-stitched binding on a mercy quilt; again, photos soon.

We have shared some meaningful things that have made me appreciate you for more than your quilting skills and ability to express yourself.
I already have a mug rug made by your hand. It sits by my computer and provides a nest for my ever present mug of water. I would feel greedy having another, but I think a winner would appreciate a mug that had a cow on it, reminding them of the giver. : )
By the way, your Dresden Plate flimsy is truly gorgeous. The unexpected dark background and light sashing is very striking, as are the warm colors. Great job!

If I were to win a mug rug, I would like a cow on it! Normally I am the rabbit person, but cows run a close second, and I figured with your COW posts, and the blocks that I've seen on your blog, that cows are something that you and I have in common, and it would remind me of you.
As for the mug rug, my cubicle is gray and blue.
I've checked out Lynn's post and the block is adorable.. I'm sure the quilts will be wonderful. Lots of possibilities.
A mug rug for me would have lime Green and polka dots.

Your quilting projects have often inspired me (basket blocks come to mind!) and I am especially grateful for your ability to share some of your ponderings. The ability to "open a window" into what you are thinking is rare - and special.
