[Not] Batik Waves

Since I came home from my little trip, I have been working on the Batik Waves blocks. They are slow going. Which is fine, because I decided some time ago that I wanted to make more complicated projects that took more time.

This surely fills the bill.

I will need 100 of them to make my usual approximately 60 x 60 quilt. You can see that I have a ways to go. But that is okay. I have cut pieces enough for this many more blocks. When they are done, I shall cut again.

One of the reasons that these blocks take so long is that joining the triangles is not done the same way for each join. And sometimes it takes multiple tries to get the pieces placed just right so that the needed quarter-inch is achieved. I think I have figured out a way to minimize the types of joins. I think.

Looks very pretty, and very intricate. I like that the "neutral" is made of printing.

I am torn between projects that come together more easily and longer term complex ones. "quick and easy" just is not my style. Happy piecing!!

What an interesting and intricate block. Well done in tackling something so complicated!

Hugs!
