Tulips and Windmills: Mont-Saint-Michel

On the day I took the food tour, Joe went on a full-day trip to Mont-Saint-Michel; he wanted to share his photos.

After walking half a mile, this is the view of Mont-Saint-Michel out in the tidal flats.

This is the saint, St. Michel, at the top of the spire.

Surrounded with walls, like a castle. There is one narrow street, eight feet wide, that spirals up to the top.

The church at the top of the mountain.

Close by, looking up.

Three-quarters of the way up, looking down at the tidal flats and the people below.

Church service.

Singing, all a part of the service.

Looking back towards France.

What an amazing place and am glad Joe got to see it. The amazing architecture must have tickled him soul deep.
Don't the people on the tidal plain look like ants?

Hugs!
