Brown-Eyed Girl

The timing isn't what I would have chosen. But it has been in place for two months and I don't know how far in the future I would have to wait to reschedule. So I'm moving forward with the removal of the cataract in my right eye tomorrow morning.

I'm not really conscious of being anxious about it, though any sane person would have some apprehension about someone cutting their eye. I know that this has become routine surgery and people undergo it every day; I know that my ophthalmologist is widely respected and has done many of these procedures. Compared to what Joe has been through, this really is not a big deal.

Nonetheless, I believe that at some deeper level I have some anxiety and some fear. As I said, the timing isn't what I would have chosen. I'll be relieved when this is behind me.

Good Luck Nancy! John had one eye done in March and one in April. He was patched for 1 day, next day got the bandage off and could drive. It went really well for him. Day after surgery, he could see 20/20 for the first time in his life.

Nancy, I'll be praying for you as you have your surgery.

So glad Joe's recovery is going well.

My mom (Guenveur) has had that surgery done and by all accounts, it's not so bad. Talk to her about it - she may be able to ease your mind about going through with this. The results are soooooooooooo worth it, from what I hear.

This procedure is so routine now -- everyone I know who's had it done has been very happy that they did! I'll be thinking of you -- let us all know how it goes!

Sure, no big deal but my friend, its not like your own PERSONAL "Well" is overflowing and you've got so much to draw from for yourself.

You're giving OUTWARD so much lately. Kinda makes it a bit of a challenge to dig deep here. That's my little humble thought because you know I'm very humble and have very little thoughts. Hee!

Good luck! I'm sure it will be fine. My dad had it done way back in the '80s and was very, very happy with his results.

I had both eyes done about 4 years ago...6 weeks apart.Oh my, you will be totally amazed at how bright the world looks after surgery. It is as though the rain has come and washed away the dust. The greens are greener, yellows brighter and on and on. And then there is the wonderful fabric. You might even find that a yardage you purchased but then decided you didn't like looks much better now! I'm sure everything will go just fine for you too.

When we have been wounded, it is much harder to be open to trying new things. Praying God to guide the surgeons hands and even now prepare you, body and soul, to receive this healing that it may be used for His glory.
Blessings and hugs.
