Third of Five, Peg!

I'm gettin' there, Peg! I'm gettin' there!

I've posted previously about Finish #1 for the Challenge; this was Meadowbrook Pasture, which, even as I write, is in the hands of the machine quilter! Finish #2 is hanging on Caroline's nursery wall.

Which brings us to this evening's entry: Finish #3, a completed-to-flimsy-stage top, pictured to the left (apparently being inspected by a member of the Quilt Police). This is my second leader-ender Jewel Box; both were made from the same fabrics, but the first one had more blocks and no border. I suppose this will have to be called "Bordered Jewel Box" until a recipient comes to mind.

Finish #4 should be along in another couple of days.

Cannot thank Peg enough for this motivational challenge!

Back to the sweat shop . . . .

I am cheering you on. I cannot believe how great it feels to be finishing stuff. I have a bunch of blocks that need to be set and then the borders on a piece that I would love to send out for quilting. One of those is up next for me.

I'm so glad to see you are sewing. I haven't been able to get back into things this summer. I keep saying maybe today but then things come up. I know I'll feel better when I start again. On the other hand, the winters are so long and my flowers are so beautiful.
Nancy, thanks for all your kind words...your quilt is just lovely the colour yummo....congratulations...

Love the quilt. It's the first time I've seen the pattern in something other than real brights. #

I've never been a great one for making quilts with an allover block pattern (low boredom threshold) but Jewel Box is one pattern that I could almost sell by soul for so to speak as it always looks gorgeous in any colourway and the blocks are a relatively simple make - might just have a go at one sometime - yours is lovely

*chuckling* I saw Bodacious and thought "Chief Quilt Inspector on the scene." The quilt is wonderful!

The quilt top with borders is lovely. Love those leader/ender projects! Maybe you should call it "Treasure Box," since it has fabric from friends and DH's special touch on each 1/2 square triangle. Cheers!

tonight I'm googeling "Jewel Box Quilts" and arrived here at yours :) I have just completed 24 blocks all made with 1930s and am trying to research boarder options.

I really like what you did... the super narrow and then darker outside boarder. ;) Love your colors too by the way.

Glad I found your blog = hope you will visit mine soon too ;)

Love from Texas! ~bonnie
