So Sorry It Has Come To This

A year or so ago, I had to enable Word Verification for my Comments section because spammers were leaving marketing links there. This has worked well. Until now.

In the past day or two I've received some comments that -- in my opinion -- were racist, immature, and offensive. I've chosen to delete them, but it may be that a reader or two (thanks, Lois, for the headzup) saw them before the removal. If so, I'm sorry that happened.

Have decided "Comment Moderation" is the way to go for a while until the person (or persons) who seems to be a lonely, unhappy, racist who doesn't have enough interesting or important things to do, loses interest. He or she may decide to continue to leave their unpleasant comments, but at least you won't have to read them.

Hi, I thought you realized that those comments were there because they seemed to get deleted. Well, somebody must have been having blogs with certain words flagged. Boring life, hey?

I don't think I told you that my daughter moved away from Philly last Dec. I suppose the rest of that story should be in a private email.
Its a real disappointment when this happens. Hopefully it wont be for to long.

Good. I like moderation. That way I can tell if you read my comments!

I had to set my blog on no anonymouse comments a while back because I got very nasty comments from someone. So it seems there are someone out there having a hobby making nasty comments.
such a shame.......wished they would leave us alone......does put a dampner on blogging .........one wipes away lots of lovely comments and makes you change the way you do stuff......

I have had to set up moderation as well. Frustrating to say the least!

I have also found that my site has been hacked from time to time...the hackers are adding links within my posts by choosing various word combinations...frustrating.

Its pretty sad you can't say what you want on your own blog. People don't have to visit if they don't like it. I had to delete a comment today on mine and it was upsetting. But I won't comment on it directly on the blog because I think I know who it was and it will just make them happy to know I saw it and it bugged me enough to delete it. Oh well.
